Photo and Silk Bonnet of Great Grandmother

“This item is a photograph of my great-grandmother Evaline Goode Sutton and she was born—I don't have the date of her birth but she died in 1938. She lived in Mt. Sterling and was married to my great-grandfather Ance Sutton. She was known in the family as ‘Little Granny’ and she was known for always having her head covered, and in the photo, which was taken in 1930, she is wearing a knit hat, which is her everyday hat. I also have her black silk dress bonnet that she wore to church and church funerals. And so she lived over in Mt. Sterling until the date of her death and she's buried in the Sutton cemetery in Mt. Sterling in an unmarked grave. I think in one of these books it says where the Sutton cemetery is marked off over there, so that must be where she's buried.”
