Clyde High School Ring, 1930
“I'm Frances Sharon Shook and I was born in Clyde, North Carolina. I've lived here except while in college and a few years in Florida, then 30 years in Greenville, SC. After retirement, moving back home to Clyde I had plenty of time with the covid outbreak in 2020 to spend going through many files, papers, drawers, etc. to discover some things that I had either never known about or had forgotten.
“One was my mother Bonnie Francis Shook's Clyde High School diploma from 1930. Sometime a little later, I found her Clyde High School ring from 1930. So I was very interested in keeping those and displaying them—the diploma—in the town of Clyde room at the Museum of Haywood County History because my mother, Bonnie Francis Shook, taught 5th grade at Clyde Elementary School for 42 years.”
